With the help of Opta, we run the rule over Bottas' F1 career to date.

- Bottas has had repeat podium finishes at just one grand prix - Canada in 2015 and 2016.

 - For the last three seasons, he has driven a Williams with a Mercedes engine. Williams was powered by Renault for Bottas' debut season in 2013.

- Only four drivers in F1 history have achieved more podium finishes than Bottas without winning a race: Nick Heidfeld (13), Stefan Johannson (12), Chris Amon (11) and Romain Grosjean (10).

- Bottas has only been in front for five laps in his 77 races to date and has recorded just one fastest lap - the first in Russian Grand Prix history in 2014.

- Since the beginning of the 2013 season, Bottas has retired just seven times, the joint-lowest tally of any driver to race in each of those four seasons (alongside Lewis Hamilton).

 - Bottas has nine podiums in his F1 career; the first five came in Europe, the next four out of Europe.

- Bottas' best race in terms of improving on grid position came at the British Grand Prix in 2014. After starting 14th on the grid, he climbed 12 places to finish second.
