Tyre choice is the essence of Formula One.

Formula One’s lone tyre manufacturer Pirelli, on September 9, revealed their tyre choices for the forthcoming races in Singapore, Japan and Russia.

While the tyre compounds for the Singapore and Japanese Grands Prix remain unchanged from 2014, Russia, which debuted in F1 last year, will go in with super soft and soft compounds for the race to be held at the Sochi Autodrom on October 11.

For Singapore, as was the case last year, the two softest compounds – super soft and soft – will be taken to the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the September 20 race.

For the September 27 race at Suzuka, the tyres come from the opposite end of the spectrum with the two hardest compounds – medium and hard – to be used for the Japanese GP, according to the official Formula 1 website.
