Lewis Hamilton has no idea what to expect at the first French Grand Prix for a decade this weekend, but hopes it will not prove to be another "boring" race.
Hamilton labelled the Monaco Grand Prix as the most boring race of his life and the Canadian Grand Prix that followed will not live long in the memory.
The four-time world champion will attempt to hit back at Circuit Paul Ricard after Sebastian Vettel won in Montreal to take over at the top of the driver standings.
But Hamilton is in the dark over what sort a race might unfold near Marseille on Sunday.
"I really don't know what it's going to provide," Hamilton said.
"Is it going to be a boring race like [Montreal] or an exciting one? Is it going to be one like Baku? I really couldn’t tell you, absolutely no idea.
"I hope for France it’s a great one, I really do. I've not watched these races so I don't know what you guys feel."
Vettel leads defending champion Hamilton - who finished fifth in Montreal - by a solitary point.
