Mumbai’s Nayan Chatterjee scored a grand double in the Euro JK 18 class, the premier category, in the second round of the JK Tyre FMSCI National racing championship at the Kari Motor Speedway here on Saturday.
It was not an easy day though for Nayan as he had to dish out his best in an incredibly fast session that saw the entire field battling for honours like never before.
He made his intentions clear that he was up for the challenge and proved it by clocking the fastest timing of 1:00:514.
He won the second in a similar fashion and, with it collected 16 crucial points to stake to be in contention for this year’s crown.
Vishnu Prasad (MSport) and Joseph Mathew, both from Chennai, did likewise in the Formula LGB4 and the Suzuki Gixxer Cup respectively.
They picked up 10 points apiece to stay on top of the championship leader board.

Red Bull Road To Rookies: 1. Jerome Vanlalrengpuia, 2. P.C. Andy Lalhmangaihsanga, 3. Eshaan Shanka.
