Moto3 star Bo Bendsneyder suffered a heartbreaking end to the Dutch TT on Sunday when he finished the race without his bike.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider – competing on home soil – had started from the front row of the grid and was hoping to make a first podium of the season.

However, in a frantic dash for the finish, Bendsneyder came off his bike and slid across the line in 10th place.

MotoGP's official Twitter account, though, confirmed that Bendsneyder's result would not be classified... what with not being on a bike and all.

They tweeted: "For reference: riders must be in contact with their machine in order to finish a race. #ThemsTheRules"
