WRESTLING – WOMEN'S FREESTYLE 62 KG 1/8 FINAL

Sonam Malik vs Bolortuya Khurelkhuu

Sonam’s chances of making it to the repechage round have ended as Khurelkhuu has been outclassed by the 2018 World champion and 2019 Worlds silver medallist Taybe Mustafa Yusein of Bulgaria in the quarterfinals.

Round 2: 2-2 Sonam takes another point and she has really opened up after winning the first round. This has been an impressive show from the debutant and she looks certain to win the bout.

Sonam employs a defensive tactic but the Mongolian strikes back in the final seconds to score 2-2 as she pins the Indian on to the ground. Sonam loses.

Round 1: 1-0 - Sonam takes the lead. She gets into a lock; a good start will boost the Indian's chances of advancing into the next round.

Sonam gets a point for pushing the Mongolian out of the mat and she seems to have gotten a hold over her opponent.

HOCKEY – MEN'S SEMIFINAL

India’s quest for an Olympics gold medal in men’s hockey after Moscow 1980 ended after it lost to Belgium in the semifinal clash at the Oi Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
