Hello and welcome to Sportstar's Live coverage of the Tokyo Olympics where the focus will be on the Indian wrestlers.

  • Deepak Punia loses the bronze medal bout 2-4 as Myles takes home an Olympic medal

  • Zavur Uguev beats Ravi Kumar 7-4 to win the Gold medal in the men's Freestyle 57kg final. Ravi Kumar settles for silver.
  • It could be all over for Ravi as the Russian now has a five-point lead and the last minute will be very crucial for the Indian
  • Ravi Kumar has been given a caution as the Russian now leads 5-2
  • The second period starts and the Russian attacks but Ravi does well to not concede any further points.
  • At the break Zavur leads Ravi 4-2
  • Ravi equals as he picks two points and floors his opponent
  • Off goes the hooter and Zavur picks the opening points and leads 2-0
  • Here we go and the two wrestlers enter the mat and this is going to a red letter day in the history of Indian sports
  • Right then we are all set for the Gold medal match as Ravi Kumar will be up against Uguev Zavur
  • Vinesh Phogat is out of the Tokyo Olympics. The wrestler won't get a repechage chance as Vanesa Kaladzinskaya loses to Pang Qianyu in the semifinal.

  • KT Irfan finishes 51st in the race with a timing of 1:34:41
  • Rohit Rohilla finishes 47th with a timing of 1:32:06
  • Sandeep Kumar finishes 23rd with a timing of 1:25:07.  Rohit Rohilla and KT Irfan are yet to complete the course.
  • 20km race walk medal winners: Italy's Massimo Stano wins gold after completing the course in 1:21:05. Japan's Koki Ikeda and Toshikazu Yamanishi take the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

GOLF: Aditi Ashok is in contention for a historic Olympic medal after carding a flawless five-under 66 in the second round with five birdies. She is currently tied second on nine-under 133 with Danish duo, Nanna Koerstz Madsen (64) and Emily Kristine Pedersen (63). Aditi trails World No.1 Nelly Korda of USA by four shots.

  • Irfan has dropped down again to 51st position. Rohit Rohilla is marginally ahead at 48th. Sandeep is at 23rd place.  India is unlikely to better its 20km race walk record this time.
  • Sandeep has slipped further to 19th at the end of 14kms.
  • Sandeep is still placed 12th after the 12km mark. KT Irfan had finished 10th in the 20km race at the the 2012 London Olympics with a time of 1:20.21.
  • KT Irfan who was languishing at the 50th has suddenly made rapid strides to make his way into the second pack.
  • Sandeep is out of the top 10 now. He is placed 12th at the halfway mark. Rohit Rohilla is currently 47th while KT Irfan is in the 50th place. 
  • Three athletes have just managed to overtake Sandeep. He managed to hold on till the 8km mark. Others are slowly pulling ahead.
  • Sandeep Kumar is currently in the second place behind China's Wang at the end of 4kms. Still a long way to go, but will he manage to hold on? Sandeep has also received two warnings. If he gets another warning, he will have to discontinue. 
  • Sandeep Kumar is the highest-ranked at world No. 42 while KT Irfan and Rahul Rohilla are world No. 77 and 78, respectively.
  • 20km men's Race Walk final is about to get underway at the Sapporo Odori Park from 13:00 IST. Three Indians are in action -- K.T. Irfan, Sandeep Kumar and Rohit Rohilla.

  • Aditi Ashok finishes her second round with a 6-under 66 to currently sit tied second. Round 1 leader Madelene Sagstrom finishes lower with a 3-under show in Round 2 for a total of 8-under 134, one stroke behind Aditi who is currently at 9-under
  • Kaladzinskaya has advanced to the semifinal. Beats Vinesh Phogat 9-3 which means she needs to wait for Repechage to have any chances of further advancing in the tournament.
  • The Indian team has challenged the decision when Kaladzinskaya was awarded the two points and after plenty of reviews the challenge was handed to India and Vinesh got a single point. THe scores being reversed to 5-2.
  • Kaladzinskaya with an excellent defence further increases her lead and is now 7-2
  • Kaladzinskaya takes three points lead 5-2 at the break.
  • Kaladzinskaya takes the opening two points but Vinesh was quick to equalise
  • Alright the Indian men's Hockey team has scripted history by winning the Bronze and over to Vinesh as the wrestler aims to enter the semifinals
  • Vinesh will now be up against Vanesa Kaladzinskaya in the quarterfinal
  • Vinesh Phogat advances into the quarterfinals with a 7-1 win over Sweden's Sofia Magdalena
  • Vinesh scores another point by counter-attacking her opponent and she leads 5-0 at the break
  • Vinesh Phogat starts in a brilliant fashion as she takes a 4-0 lead
  • It's all over for Anshu Malik as she loses to Valeria Koblova 1-5
  • Anushu goes for the single leg trap and almost pushes her opponent out of the mat and scores a point
  • Koblova is the lead in the break and this will be Anshu's final chance to keep her hopes alive for a medal
  • Anshu attacks but her opponent gets a point after employing a lock
  • Right then off goes the whistle and the two wrestlers get engaged in the bout
  • We are moments away from the start of Anshu Malik's bout and the teenager will aim to win her repechage after initially losing her bout
  • Next up will be Vinesh Phogat who will open her campaign at the Tokyo Olympics

First up it will be Anshu Malik in action in the Women's 57kg repechage followed by the sensation Vinesh Phogat.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya will then take on Zavur Uguev in the final of the Men's 57kg Final followed by Deepak Punia's Bronze medal match.

Anshu Malik, who lost to Individual World Cup gold medallist and double Worlds medallist Iryna Kurachkina 8-2 in a first-round match of the women’s 57kg weight category on Wednesday, got a reason to celebrate her birthday on Thursday as she made it to the repechage round following Kurachkina's progress to the title clash.

What is repechage and how it works in wrestling   

Anshu has a tough draw in the repechage as well. The 19-year-old will meet Rio Olympics silver medallist Valeria Koblova of Russia in her first repechage round match. If she gets past the Russian, Anshu will face former World championships and current European bronze medallist Evelina Nikolova of Bulgaria for a bronze medal.
