Hello and welcome to Sportstar's Live Tokyo Olympics coverage. First up along with the shooting will be the archery, followed by weightlifting, tennis, table tennis and boxing.

That brings an end to today's action in individual events. Please follow our Hockey blog (from 17:15 IST) to track Indian women's performance against Netherlands.

BOXING:

Round 3: Vikas Krishan loses to Japan's  Quincy Sewonrets Okazawa in a unanimous verdict.  Vikas is marked 9 by four judges and 8 by Judge 1. Okazawa, on the other hand, maintains a perfect score. The end result is 5-0 in favour of Okazawa.  There are no repechage rounds and this is the end of the campaign for Vikas Krishan in quite possibly his last appearance in Olympic Games.  This was a Round of 32 clash.

Round 2:  Things aren't looking great for the Indian. He gets a cut above his left eyebrow. The Japanese player is one smiling at Vikas during the second round. He clearly understands he has the upper hand. Round 2 also goes to Okazawa as all the five judges give a 10-9 verdict. Vikas who competed in the middleweight category at Rio Olympics, has moved to welterweight here in Tokyo.

Round 1: Japan's Okazawa draws the first blood. At the end of the first three minutes, the judges call in favour of the Japanese boxer. All five judges mark Okazawa a full 10 while Vikas Krishan gets 9s. While Vikas Krishan certainly tried his best to agitate his opponent with a cheeky smile during the defense, Okazawa was more successful in landing the punches.

We are back after a short break as Vikas Krishan, a former World championships bronze medallist, opens India’s boxing campaign against Sewonrets Okazawa of Japan in a 69kg men’s first round contest. This is Vikas Krishan's third Olympic appearance.

Here's a crash course on boxing at Olympics to help understand his bout better. Our correspondent Y.B. Sarangi has done a preview of India's chances in boxing in Tokyo. Read here .

Another close game and yet again, it is Bergstroem who triumphs and takes it 11-9. Sutirtha trails by 1-3.

Sutirtha turns on the aggression with some crisp forehand shots but squanders a golden opportunity to go 2-1 up at 11-10 allowing Bergstroem to bounce back. The Swede wins a close third game 13-11.

Sutirtha starts the second game much better by engaging Bergstroem into slightly longer rallies and cruising to a 8-2 lead. However, her opponent makes an incredible comeback to make it 8-8. Sutirtha keeps her calm and ultimately wins the game 11-9 to make it one-a-piece in the best-of-seven match.

Sutirtha is yet to find her rhythm. The Swedish paddler has easily wrapped up the first game 11-5.

After trailing the paddler from Great Britain for much of the third game, it is Manika who crosses the finish line first. She wins 12-10 for a 3-0 lead. She needs to win one more game to progress to the second round.

Manika has a smooth run for a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven match.  She wins the second game 11-6.

Manika Batra has a slow start against her lower-ranked opponent, but finds her rhythm soon enough to pocket the first game 11-7.
