The idea was good but it was poorly timed. The 400m National Championship, which the Athletics Federation of India had planned to conduct at Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh on October 22 and 23, has now been postponed.

The 400m meet, in various age groups, had to be postponed due to insufficient entries received so far, said the AFI. That was expected since the athletes had virtually closed the season.

The meet is not likely to be held this year. The AFI had also planned a javelin throw National and even that may not happen this year.
