Coronavirus updates, March 30: Irish Open postponed; Usyk-Chisora called off

The Irish Open is the latest European Tour event to be postponed. There has been no European Tour action since the Qatar Masters at the start of March with much of the sports world in lockdown to combat the spread of COVID-19.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has spread fear worldwide, taking the lives of over 36,000 people, and spreading across 201 countries.

The biggest news for the world of sport is the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics from 2020 to the summer of 2021. Several other tournaments, including the IPL, Premier League and French Open have been postponed.

Suspensions or cancellations have also impacted Moto GP, the Bundesliga, ATP Tour, La Liga, Euro 2020, BWF Tour, World Test Championship, Copa America, WTA Tour and several Formula One (F1) races among others.
