Renowned Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik and the young and talented Indian squash player Dipika Pallikal donned the avatar of ‘Shiksha Superheroes’ at the Government Higher Secondary School, Pallikaranai, in Chennai, on Thursday.

Launched in 2004, P&G Shiksha has built and supported 330 schools, securing the career of over 6,00,000 children. In its 12th year, it continues the good work by creating more educational opportunities and access to education.

"I am glad to be a part of this programme as I strongly feel that education is a basic right for every child and important for their growth. However focusing on overall development is also very important which can be done by teaching them to balance sports with academics,” said Karthik.

When asked about the campaign and its importance for the underprivileged children, Arjuna Award winner, Dipika Pallikal, said, “Education is extremely important for every child’s growth. It brings in discipline and knowledge, which has played a very important role in moulding me as an individual and as a sports professional. It is necessary to provide children with a comfortable environment to study and make them responsible citizens."

The couple emphasised on the importance of education in the lives of children and called upon the people to choose P&G products as well to contribute to their education.
