The Indian polo team has won first two games in the World Cup Polo qualifiers, and will take on Pakistan in a crucial game on Friday.

Being held in Tehran, the qualifiers Zone E, the tournament has seen Indian team perform reasonably well. Coached by veteran Uday Kalan, the team comprises DhruvPal Godara (handicap+5), Lt Col. Ravi Rathore (+5), Angad Kalan (+4), Siddhant Sharma (+3), Padmanabh Singh (+2) and Pranav Kapur (+2).

It beat host Iran 10-8 in a close game on Monday, followed by a narrow 6-5 win against South Africa. After two consecutive victories, the players look confident as they gear up for the challenge against Pakistan. Like India, Pakistan has also beaten Iran and South Africa in the first two games.

Only one team will reach the finals at Sydney to be played in October.
