India's Pooja loses in women's archery at Paralympics

Pooja, who finished the ranking round at 29th spot, lost to Poland's Milena Olszewska inside four sets with a scoreline of 2-6 in the 1/16 Eliminations round.

Indian archer Pooja Khanna lost to Poland's Milena Olszewska in the 1/16 Eliminations round of the women’s individual recurve event at the Rio Paralympic Games here on Thursday.

Pooja, who finished the ranking round at 29th spot, lost inside four sets with a scoreline of 2-6.

The Indian archer started off on a bad note as she lost the first set with a scoreline of 22-25.

In the second round, Pooja who was trailing by two points could not stepped up to the occasion as she scored 21 points to Olszewska’s 23. The Polish’s player was dominant in the entire third round but Pooja somehow managed to bounce back and took the third set with a scoreline of 24-25.

The fourth set saw some great game from both the archers but it was Olszewska who proved superior as she bagged the set with a score of 23-22 to advance to the Round of 16.
