The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has warned its shooters against participating in the upcoming 4th National Rifle Shooting Championship.

The tournament is organised by the Airgun Association of India, which is based in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. It will be held on August 31.

“The so called 4th National Rifle Shooting Championship 2018 is not a recognised competition. Shooters are advised not to participate in this Championship,” the NRAI said in a statement.

The apex body said strict disciplinary action will be taken against anyone taking part in the competition.

“Disciplinary action, including ban on participation in competitions being organised by NRAI or its affiliated units, will be imposed,” the national shooting federation added.
