The multiple-time world champion dismissed concerns about a possible conflict of an interest.

Pankaj Advani stepped into a new role as administrator, as he was elected as Honorary Joint Secretary of the Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA), at the 64th Annual General Meeting of KSBA on Sunday.

Advani's mentor and former national champion Arvind Savur was elected President.

At a press conference earlier to announce his candidature, Advani had insisted that he would continue as an active player if he is elected.

The multiple-time world champion dismissed concerns about a possible conflict of an interest, stating that when he features in a tournament, he will be treated as nothing more than just a player.

"My role as Hon. Jt. Secretary would be to attend to matters outside of the playing table," Advani had said.

Savur, 76, explained that he is keen to get more support for cue sports from the Sports Ministry. Former National billiards coach S. Jairaj had been elected as Vice-President.
