The Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, stated that Khelo India would go a long way in achieving the twin objectives of mass participation and promotion of excellence in sports.
The Sports Minister launched the simple yet vibrant Khelo India logo at the Nehru Stadium. Khelo India School Games will be staged from January 31.
“We crowd sourced the logo design and we were delighted that many chose the colours of the National flag,’’ Col. Rathore said.
The three-stroke Khelo India logo was designed by Ogilvy India, and offers flexibility in adapting to numerous pictorial forms.
The Khelo India School Games, organised in collaboration with the School Games Federation of India and the National sports federations, will be broadcast by Star Sports.
“These competitions will act as avenues for identification of budding sporting talent in specific sports disciplines. We are proud that everyone is coming together in the movement,’’ said Col. Rathore.
