Rowing Team Leaves For Asian Championships

The five-day tournament that ends on 28th September will have 19 men, seven women, four coaches and a masseur in the Indian crew. Naren Kothari and Sandeep Gupta, International Rowing Federation (FISA) umpires from India, will be officiating in the championships.

A 31-member Indian rowing squad, will be leaving from Hyderabad today to participate in the 16th Asian Senior Rowing Championships at Beijing, beginning on September 24.

The five-day tournament that ends on 28th September will have 19 men, seven women, four coaches and a masseur in the Indian crew, the Rowing Federation of India (RFI) said in a statement.

Naren Kothari and Sandeep Gupta, International Rowing Federation (FISA) umpires from India, will be officiating in the championships.

“We wish them good luck and we hope to win as many medals as possible in the tournament,” said M.V. Sriram, Secretary-General of the RFI.
