The Indian women got into the act with an authoritative 5-0 win over Sri Lanka to script its first win in the five-team league football competition. Dangmei Grace was instrumental in the win, scoring a brace and an assist. India next takes on Nepal, which is sitting comfortably with two wins, on February 11.

Grace, who made her debut in the national football team in 2013 in a friendly, scored a scorcher from close range towards the end of the first half. And then the 19-year-old unleashed a right-footer from around 35 yards in the 57th minute. Grace’s wonderful chipped pass from the left found Kamala Devi, who had the easiest of jobs to tap it home. “We are looking at players like Grace who has come from the u-19 squad to be part of the team,” said India’s chief coach Sajid Yousuf Dhar.
