Maldives produced a spirited display to defeat defending champion India 2-1 and win the SAFF Championship after 10 years. (Report)

Romelu Lukaku was on target twice as Belgium cruised to a 3-0 win over Iceland in the Nations League opener on Tuesday. (Report)

Andre Silva stepped up and scored the decisive goal in Cristiano Ronaldo's absence, as Portugal began its UEFA Nations League campaign with a 1-0 win over Italy to take control of League A's Group 3. (Report)

Croatia suffered the biggest defeat in its history as Spain thrashed it 6-0 in Tuesday's Nations League match at Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero. (Report)

English Premier League

Liverpool continued its 100 per cent start to the Premier League season with an authoritative 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur. (Report)

Chelsea nudged ahead of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table as Eden Hazard's hat-trick helped secure a come-from-behind 4-1 win over Cardiff City on Saturday. (Report)

Bundesliga

Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Moussa Diaby were all on target as Paris Saint-Germain continued its strong start to the season with a routine 4-0 Ligue 1 win at home to Saint-Etienne. (Report)

Arjen Robben scored a stunner as Bayern Munich came from behind to claim a 3-1 victory over Bundesliga strugglers Bayer Leverkusen, which was reduced to 10 men late on. (Report)

Serie A

Cristiano Ronaldo opened his Juventus account with two second-half goals in the Serie A champion's 2-1 victory over Sassuolo, but substitute Douglas Costa's red card for spitting cast a shadow over the match. (Report)

Tennis

India ended its Davis Cup World Group Play-off tie against Serbia without a single win, losing 0-4. However India can still have a shot at the qualification for the Davis Cup finals in five months from now as per new rules. (Report)

Defending Davis Cup champion France took an unassailable 3-0 semifinal lead over Spain and will meet Croatia in the final in late November. (Report)

Croatia will meet France in the Davis Cup final after defeating the United States 3-2 as Borna Coric triumphed in the decisive match in Zadar. (Report)

Purav Raja and Rameez Junaid defeated the pair of Timur Khabibulin and Vladyslav Manafov 7-6(4), 4-6, 10-7 to clinch the doubles title in the $75,000 ATP Challenger tennis tournament in Turkey. (Report)
