BADMINTON: Sindhu clinches China Open
India's badminton ace P.V. Sindhu won her first Super-Series title when she defeated China's Sun Yu to clinch the China Open. She became the second Indian to do it after Saina Nehwal won it in 2014.
Sindhu, who became a star in the country after becoming the first Indian women to win an Olympic silver, continued her rampaging good run to beat Sun 21-11, 17-21, 21-11 in a clash that lasted an hour and nine minutes.
TENNIS: Murray ends year on top
Andy Murray earned the year-end No. 1 ranking and his first title at the ATP finals on Sunday, beating Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-4 in the last match of the tennis season.
The Wimbledon champion, who took over from Djokovic as the top-ranked player two weeks ago, needed to win on Sunday to ensure he finished the season as the No. 1-ranked player in the world for the first time.

Ball tampering charges
South Africa continued its domination over Australia and registered a resounding win — by an innings and 80 runs — but it wasn't without controversy, as its captain Faf Du Plessis was charged with ball tampering. A video emerged showing him licking his fingers and shining the ball while eating a gum. The whole team, led by Hashim Amla came out strongly to defend their captain, calling the whole thing a joke.
New Zealand beats Pakistan
After a disappointing tour to India, New Zealand began its home season in style, with an eight wicket win over Pakistan. Debutant Colin de Grandhomme took 7/64 with his accurate bowling to wreck havoc in the Pakistan batting. Second Test in Hamilton will start on 25th November.

Pakistan cleared by government for Jr. Hockey World Cup in India
Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has been given the clearance from the government to send its national junior team to India for the FIH Junior World Cup next month. The ministry of inter-provincial coordination informed the federation that the government has given the NOC for participating in the December 8-18 Junior World Cup.

Ronaldo shines in derby; Dortmund wins 'Der Klassiker'
Cristiano Ronaldo was at his very best, scoring yet another hat-trick, as >Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid 3-0 to consolidate its position on top of the table. It was Real's first league win over its city rival since 2013 while Ronaldo's treble took him to the top of the league's scoring list on eight goals along with Barcelona pair Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.. Barcelona, however, was held to a >0-0 draw by Malaga .
In "Der Klassiker" in Germany, >Dortmund defeated Bayern Munich 1-0 , meaning RB Leipzig will end the week on top, with a 3-point lead over Bayern. Dortmund is currently third but has Hoffenheim and Koln for company, all three teams level at 21 points.
The great >Milan derby ended in a draw — a goal in the dying minutes from Croatian forward Ivan Perisic earning Inter Milan a valuable draw against arch-rival AC Milan.
Yaya's sensational comeback
In EPL, Chelsea moved to the top of the table with a >1-0 win over Middlesbrough . Arsenal earned a draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford, thanks to a late Olivier Giroud equaliser. >Liverpool was held to a 0-0 draw by Southampton while Spurs secured a sensational 3-2 win over West Ham United.
The headlines were grabbed by Yaya Toure though, who made an instant impact on his return by scoring a brace in >Manchester City's 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Toure made his first appearance of the season, after apologising for his agent's comment on Pep Guardiola.
