Maharashtra’s Sanjivani Jadhav, who won the 10,000m silver on the opening day, finished eighth in the women’s 5,000m in the athletics competition of the 29th World University Games in Taipei on Sunday. The 20-year-old clocked 16:00.06s.

In the men’s section, Ranjieet Kumar Patel was 11th in the half marathon 1:10.04s while Kerala’s Muhammed Anees, the younger brother of Asian champion quartermiler Muhammed Anas, finished 15th in his group in the long jump with a mediocre 7.34m and failed to qualify for the final.
