Bhavna Chaudhary places fifth in women’s trap in Universiade

With only five shooters in the competition, the qualification was a formality. In the final, Wan-Yu Liu of Chinese Taipei, clinched the gold with a 39-35 victory over Fiammetta Rossi of Italy.

While India did not field any shooter in double trap as it has been dropped from the Olympics, the trap shooters, apart from the men’s skeet and junior women’s skeet shooters, have not been able to make the finals in any of the events so far. (Representative Image)

Bhavna Chaudhary placed fifth in women’s trap in the 30th Universiade in Napoli, Italy, on Friday.

With only five shooters in the competition, the qualification was a formality. In the final, Wan-Yu Liu of Chinese Taipei, clinched the gold with a 39-35 victory over Fiammetta Rossi of Italy.

In men’s air pistol, the lone Indian entry, Achal Pratap Singh Grewal shot 567 and placed 15th.
