All India Surendra Singh shooting c’ship: Kuheli Gangulee clinches gold

Kuheli Gangulee defeated former World Champion Tejaswini Sawant by 0.4 point in the women’s rifle prone event.

Kuheli Gangulee continued her domination as she clinched the gold 0.4 point ahead of former World Champion Tejaswini Sawant in the women’s rifle prone event in the 17th All India Kumar Surendra Singh shooting championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Friday.

Chahat Deep Kaur got the bronze, 1.2 point ahead of Anju Moudgil. They were followed by KC Hema, N. Gaayathri, Lajja Gauswami and Meena Kumari in a strong field of 80 shooters that had all the best in the country including Anjali Bhagwat, Rajkumari Rathore, Elizabeth Susan Koshy.

In the junior section, Priya beat Sonika by one point for the gold, while Ayushi Podder pipped Kinnori Konar for the bronze on the count back, by a marginally better last card, after the two tied on 613.4.

In the junior men rapid fire pistol event, Anish Bhanwala pipped Anhad Jawanda 26-25 for the gold. Shivam Shukla took the bronze.

Juniors: 1. KU Priya 614.5; 2. Sonika 613.5; 3. Ayushi Podder 613.4.
