Anish Bhanwala, Manu Bhaker shoot gold in Plzen

Commonwealth Games gold medallists Anish Bhanwala and Manu Bhaker continued to assert their class as they won the junior men’s rapid fire pistol and junior women’s air pistol gold in the 28th Meeting of Shooting Hopes international championship in Plzen, Czech Republic, on Thursday.

Needing three points to win the gold in the final series, Anish wound up in style with a perfect five, to beat qualification topper Matej Rampula of the Czech Republic by three points.

The 16-year-old Manu topped qualification with 574 in air pistol, and beat Camille Jedrzeiewski of France by 4.6 points, after the latter was docked two points for not reporting on time for the final.
