Junior Shotgun World Cup: Akash Saharan in trap final

Akash Saharan overcame a poor fourth round to make the trap final with a score of 114 in the Junior Shotgun World Cup in Porpetto, Italy, on Friday.

After being in the lead on the opening day following rounds of 24 and 25, Akash had rounds of 23, 20 and 22 for the second best total of 114 that he shared with two others, three points behind leader Alberto Belluzzo of Italy.

Janmajai Singh Rathore shot 110 for the 11th spot, as he missed the final by three points in a field of 71 shooters. After having scored 46 overnight, he had rounds of 21, 21 and 22.

Laksshay (109), Vivaan Kapoor (109) and Manavaditya Singh Rathore (101) took the 16th, 18th and 35th places. It was continued struggle for Manavaditya who had shot 39 overnight, as he grappled with rounds of 22, 18 and 22 on the second day of the competition.
