Kumar Surendra Singh shooting championship to begin on June 17

The 19th Kumar Surendra Singh shooting championship will be held concurrently with the fifth national selection trials in rifle and pistol, at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, from June 17 to July 1.

At the 10-metre range, it will be men’s air rifle followed by the mixed air rifle. Thereafter, it will be women’s air rifle. The women’s air pistol will be followed by the mixed air pistol event, leading to men’s air pistol.

In the 25-metre range, it will be standard pistol, centre fire pistol, women’s sports pistol and men’s rapid fire pistol, in that order. In the 50-metre range, it will be women’s rifle 3-position, followed by men’s free pistol, men’s rifle 3-position, ending with men’s prone and women’s prone events.

Each event in the Kumar Surendra Singh Championship will immediately be followed by the fifth selection trial.

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has also announced a list of 66 men and 41 women for the national coaching camp to be staged at the Dr. Karni Singh Range from June 5 to 15.

The last World Cup in rifle and pistol will be held in Rio de Janeiro by the end of August. The Asian Championship, offering the last set of Olympic quota places in shooting for the continent, will be held in Doha in November.
