Punjab's Arjun Singh Cheema ruled the 50m free pistol event and ended up with the gold medals of the men’s and juniors section in the 62nd National shooting championships at the Vattiyoorkavu National Games ranges on Monday.
The young shooter was confidence personified as he finished with a card of 556 and took to the top of the podium in the men’s section, which also featured the likes of Om Prakash Mithrawal, P.N. Prakash and Jitu Rai.
Chandigarh’s Vijayveer Singh was a close second with a total of 555, a point ahead of Gurpal Singh (Army).
In the junior section, Arjun and Vijay again finished first and second while the bronze was taken by Abhishek Arya (Haryana), who shot 554.
