World Cup gold medallist Akhil Sheoran did his confidence some good as he won the men’s 50m rifle 3-position in the fourth National shooting
selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Friday.
It was some compensation for Akhil who had qualified in the eighth place with a modest score of 1161 out of 1200.
Akhil had an aggregate of 453.4 points in the 45-shot final as he pipped Parul Kumar by 1.2 point.
Parul had shot 1174 in the qualification phase, two points behind the leader Chain Singh who had won the earlier trial but ended up sixth
this time.
Satyedra Singh was placed third ahead of Goldi Gurjar and Swapnil Kusale. Mahesh Kumar and Kailash Chand were the others to make the final.

Men: 1. Akhil Sheoran 453.4 (1161); 2. Parul Kumar 452.2 (1174); 3. Satyendra Singh 441.3 (1170).
Junior men: 1. Amit Kumayu 1139; 2. Akash Patidar 1139; 3. Lagad Saurav Gorakh 1123.
