Selection trials: Rahi Sarnobat beats Muskan for first place

World Cup gold medallist Rahi Sarnobat found her winning touch as she beat Muskan 38-31 for the first place in women’s sports pistol in the
shooting National selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh range, Tughlakabad, on Wednesday.

Anisa Sayyed, who offered her resignation as the Assistant Director in the Haryana government as she was not getting leave to pursue her sport at the national and international level, kept her composure to reach the third place, after a below par fare in the qualification stage.

In men’s air rifle, Ravi Kumar who has been having a good run in the international circuit this season, beat Swapnil Kusale by 0.1 point on the last shot. Ravi led comfortably, before a 9.4 penultimate shot in the 24-shot final pulled him down. Ravi was brilliant in qualification, recording a career-best score of 631.0

Men: 10m air rifle: 1. Ravi Kumar 250.7 (631.0); 2. Swapnil Kusale 250.6 (622.3); 3. Aribam Sharma 228.9 (623.8).

Women: 25m sports pistol: 1. Rahi Sarnobat 38 (580); 2. Muskan 31 (573); 3. Anisa Sayyed 27 (571).
