Shotgun World Cup: Areeba misses out in skeet

After a bad start, Areeba Khan shot a series of 24, 22, 21 and 24. She was placed 24th out of 72.

Areeba Khan shot 109 and missed the women’s skeet final by five points in the Shotgun World Cup in Lahti, Finland, on Wednesday.

After a bad start, when she could get only 18 in the first round, she shot a series of 24, 22, 21 and 24. She was placed 24th out of 72.

Saniya Sheikh (98) and Karttiki Shaktawat (96) were placed 63rd and 65th respectively.

In the men’s section, Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan shot 25 and 21. His total of 46 placed him 64th in a field of 129 shooters. Anant Jeet Singh Naruka (45) and Angad Vir Singh Bajwa (44) were in the 73rd and 91st place.

Sheeraz Sheikh, competing in the MQS section, had rounds of 23 and 23.
