National champion Rashmmi Rathore shot 64 and was placed 19th in women's skeet in the Shotgun World Cup in Acapulco, Mexico, on Saturday.

It could have been a better score for Rashmmi, the lone Indian woman competing in skeet, but for the deduction of three points for being absent for a round.

Three-time Olympic champion and former World Champion Kimberly Rhode of the US, who had won the gold in the first World Cup of the season in Delhi, won again, beating compatriot Caitlin Connor 54-53.

In men’s skeet, the young Angad Vir Singh Bajwa shot rounds of 24, 24, and 23 to be placed 12th, with two more rounds left on the second day. Former Asian champion Man Singh was on 70 while Amrinder Singh Cheema was on 68.

The results:

Women’s skeet: 1. Kimberly Rhode (US) 54 (70); 2. Caitlin Connor (US) 53 (72); 3. Cao Yi (Chn) 41 (71); 19. Rashmmi Rathore 64.
