World Police and Fire Games: Anjum, Lajja lead medal rush for India

Anjum Moudgil won the prone gold while Lajja Gauswami pipped her to gold in the rifle 3-position event.

Anjum Moudgil and Lajja Gauswami led the Indian rifle shooters to a bunch of medals including individual gold in prone and 3-position events in the World Police and Fire Games in Chendu, China.

Lajja Gauswami won the gold in rifle 3-position event with a score of 586, while Anjum had to settle for the silver. In the team competition, Anjum along with Monu, Vimlesh and Shamsher won the gold, while the second Indian team of Kuheli Gangulee, Lajja Gauswami, Elizabeth Susan Koshy and Ruby Rani won the bronze.

In the rifle prone event, Anjum won the gold with a score of 592. The team of Anjum, Lajja, Kuheli and Elizabeth won the gold. The second Indian team of Ruby Monu, Shamsher and Ram Swaroop won the bronze.
