World Team ch'ship: India off to a losing start

India lost all its matches in the opening tie against the top-seeded Egypt in the World Women's Team squash championship.

India had a tough start to the World Women's Team squash championship as it went down 0-3 to top-seed Egypt in the opening Pool A match.

Pitted against World No. 1 Nour El Sherbini, Joshna Chinappa lost 11-5, 11-6, 15-13 in a 34-minute match.

Dipika Pallikal Karthik battled before losing a four-game match 4-11, 11-7, 11-4, 11-9 to World No. 3 Nouran Gohar. In the dead rubber, Omneya Abdel Kawy subdued Sunayna Kuruvilla 11-7, 11-7, 11-2.

India will play Mexico on Tuesday.
