Yash Fadte had the last laugh as he defeated Chaitanya Shah 11-7, 11, 7, 9-11, 11-5 in the U-19 final of the third Indian Classic Junior Open Squash tournament at the Bombay Gymkhana courts on Wednesday.

The unseeded youngster maintained his prime form, defeating Shah rather convincingly. “Chaitanya and I have been playing for a long time, so we have a lot of history behind. He is a very good player and I knew, it won’t be easy so I prepared well and somehow that worked,” Fadte said, after winning against his old friend, who is based in the United States.

Both the players reached the final after terrific performances in the semifinal. While Chaitanya had defeated top-seed and India No.1 Tushar Shahani 11-6, 4-11, 14-12, 11-6, Fadte thumped second seed Rahul Baitha 8-11, 13-11, 11-4, 9-11, 11-7 in a gruelling five-game battle.
