AB de Villiers launches an application to connect with fans

This unique platform will give fans unprecedented access to De Villiers’ life. They'll have the opportunity to see behind closed doors, learning what it takes to be a professional cricketer and exactly what makes him tick.

The app 'AB 17' provides exclusive and personalised content from AB De Villiers' life both on and off the field.

While for the past decade the current South African ODI captain, record holder, and the adopted son of Bengaluru, AB de Villiers has been achieving new records on the field, and is now set to achieve yet another milestone in his career.

Partnering with American based company, Fan Hero , De Villiers becomes the first South African sportsman to develop a personalised fan engagement application, called AB 17 that will allow him to interact on a deeper level with his global fan following.

This unique platform will give fans unprecedented access to De Villiers’ life. They'll have the opportunity to see behind closed doors, learning what it takes to be a professional cricketer and exactly what makes him tick.

Talking about the application, De Villiers said, “I have been looking for a way to engage on a more authentic level with my fans across the world and I believe that – AB 17 - would be the perfect way to do so. The idea is to give the fans an idea of what it’s like to be an international cricketer playing the whole year round, and what it takes to get there.”

The AB 17 application is live on both the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
