Multiple Grand Slam doubles winner Sania Mirza hopes that her forthcoming book 'Ace Against Odds', authored by her father Imran Mirza and Shivani Gupta, to be released next month, should be a useful guide to the next generation of tennis players from India.
"If my story can inspire even one youngster to the heights of winning a Grand Slam in the future, I'll feel blessed,” Sania said in a statement from Madrid.
The tennis star, is ranked World No. 1 in women’s doubles along with her partner and Swiss great Martina Hingis.
The book, published by HarperCollins India, is essentially expected to tell the story of Sania’s rise to the top. She dwells on the difficulties and hardships as well as the joys and triumphs along the way and memorable encounters on and off the court. Sania also refers to the people and relationships that have contributed to her growth as a person and a player.
Publisher V. K. Karthika says Sania’s is an extraordinary achievement and her biography is as compelling as it is inspirational. “We are privileged to be able to work with her on the book.”
