Mahendra Singh Dhoni will try his helicopter shot now in the golf range when he takes parts in a two-day Executive Golf Invitational event at the Phoenician Golf Club in the USA from December 5.
The World Cup-winning captain’s charitable foundation, Winning Ways will be partnering and supporting the event, which will support the brave and injured service men and women of the US and the Indian Army.
The event has partnered with Wounded Warrior Project, one of the most prominent military and veterans charity service organisation in the USA.
“Besides a great weekend of golf and camaraderie, it is the cause that we’re supporting which is even greater,” said Dhoni, who was awarded the rank of honorary lieutenant colonel by the Indian Army. “I have enormous respect for service men and women across the world and I do hope that this event will help raise and donate substantial funds as an expression of our gratitude towards the two nation armies.”
Dhoni is the only sportsperson in the world to have completed a para training program attaining the prestigious blue wings. The occasion will bring together senior corporate executives from Fortune 500 companies and leading Indian multinational corporations, celebrities, sports professionals for a fun-filled weekend of golf and camaraderie.
