SAAC: Shivani Kataria leads the way on Day 2

The Indian clinched the gold medal in the 200m freestyle event.

India added 21 gold medals on the second day of the South Asian Aquatic Championship which is being held in Colombo.

Rio Olympian Shivani Kataria was the first Indian to claim a gold medal on Day 2. She clinched the gold medal in the 200m freestyle event.

Later in the day, Kataria also claimed gold in the mixed 400m freestyle relay along with Sarma S.P. Nair, Jyotsna Rajendra Pansare and Sahil Chopra.

Chahat Arora and Jashandeep Singh won golds in 100m breaststroke events.

Jyotsna Rajendra Pansare won the 50m butterfly gold and Srishti Nag took silver. Sarma S.P. Nair and Aman Ghai claimed the gold and silver respectively in men's 50m butterfly. Later on, Srishti Nag won gold in the 200m Individual Medley.

At the end of the second day, India leads the tally with 66 gold, 47 silver and 11 bronze medals. India's total tally is 124. Sri Lanka is in second place with 14 gold medals.
