Jason Roy was quick to deflect praise across the whole England camp after New Zealand was thrashed in the World Twenty20 semi-finals.
Roy scored a stunning 78 off 44 balls, his highest T20I score, as England comfortably chased down New Zealand's 153-8, a total limited by Chris Jordan and Ben Stokes phenomenal death bowling.
The Black Caps managed just 20 runs from its final four overs, losing four wickets in the process, before Roy and Alex Hales (20) tipped the scales further in England's favour.
"The bowling unit did really well to keep them down to that, they are a hugely dangerous line-up," man of the match Roy said.
"I tried to get the team off to a good start and it came off for me and we won quite well.
"I just felt it was a chance to go out there get off to a great start on a decent wicket. It was a total where if you don't get a good start and have a hiccup it can be a bit dangerous in the middle overs.
"So I just gave it a crack and it came off. I got a few boundaries early and kept going from there."
Morgan perished for his second first-ball duck of the tournament before Joe Root (27 not out) and Jos Buttler (32 no) saw England home, but the skipper's spirits could not be dampened.
"We did really well to peg it back after the first six or seven overs," said Morgan. "Kane [Williamson] played really well and his wicket was very important.
"Continuing to take wickets helped us a huge amount. At one stage we were looking at [them getting] 180, but the belief in our camp is a very aggressive brand of cricket and we have confidence at the moment - led by Alex Hales and Jason Roy.
"We are in a good position at the moment particularly with the death bowlers and a long batting line-up.
"[A final] is the kind of thing you dream about. Everyone has worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices to put us in this position. We have worked hard and earned the right to play the way we do."
