West Indies head coach Phil Simmons: "We'll make sure that as tough as they are, we'll try and be tougher than them."

Phil Simmons knows rejuvenated England will be a different proposition to the team West Indies beat in its opening World Twenty20 match when the two sides attempt to make history in the final on Sunday. Chris Gayle made an unbeaten century to guide the Windies to a six-wicket victory with 11 balls to spare in Mumbai last month, but England has won all four games since then to reach the final.

The team that holds its nerve to win in Eden Gardens will become the first to lift the World T20 trophy twice and Windies head coach Simmons is expecting a bigger test from Eoin Morgan's men this time around. "There's a lot of difference because [England's players] are a lot more confident now," said Simmons.

Confident England

"I think they were a bit tentative in that match because it was the first match. They are a lot more confident. They have beaten quite a few sides to get here so they are going to be tough to beat, but we'll make sure that as tough as they are, we'll try and be tougher than them."

West Indies has once again showed it is a force in the shortest format of the game and Simmons is determined to finish the job. "It would mean a lot. We would have a trophy to go back home with," he said.

"We'd be champions for the second time in three tournaments and I think that's what it means to the guys: to be champions and to be number one in the world and that's what you play cricket for."
