Leigh Kasperek's three wickets reduced Australia to 4 for 4, a position from which New Zealand took control to clinch a comfortable win.

Mahmudullah rescued Bangladesh's innings to allow for a respectable total that tested Australia. He scored an unbeaten 49 off 29 balls.

Usman Khawaja gave Australia a bright start to its chase of 157, piling on 62 runs for the first wicket with Shane Watson and eventually finishing with 58 off 45 balls.
