Snehit and Yashini win at Jordan Open

S. F. R. Snehit and S. Yashini won the top-prizes at the the International Table Tennis Federation-Jordan junior and cadet open table tennis championships.

India's S. F. R. Snehit and S. Yashini bagged the junior boys'and girls' titles in the International Table Tennis Federation-Jordan junior and cadet open table tennis championships, (which is a part of World junior circuit), in Amman on Wednesday.

Snehit, a native of Telangana, who trains with multiple National men's singles champion S. Raman, defeated his compatriot Chandra Jeet (4-1) 12-10, 7-11-4, 11-9, 11, 11-6 in the boys' final. Yashini, a trainee of Maharishi Vidya Mandir (Chennai) and coached by V. M. Ravi Venkatesh, overcame a tough challenge from India's Prapti Sen (4-3) 7-11, 5-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-4.

“It was an unforgettable match for me. I was two sets down having lost them narrowly and had to change my strategy to bounce back into the contest by countering his power-play with precision and lot of composure to win the remaining sets to emerge winner,” Snehit, now India No. 2 in the juniors section, said.
