WTT Contender Muscat: Manav-Archana lose in final, win silver

The Indian mixed doubles pair of Manav Thakkar and Archana Kamath won silver, while the women's doubles duo of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee progressed into the finals of the WTT Contender Muscat 2022 on Friday.

The Indian mixed doubles pair of Manav Thakkar and Archana Kamath lost to the Chinese pair of Chuqin Wang and Chen Xingtong 11-3, 11-3, 11-6 in the final of the WTT Contender Muscat here on Friday.

However, there was some good news for India as the unseeded women's pair of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee entered the summit clash. The duo defeated its Indian counterpart of S. Selena Deepthi and Akula Sreeja 11-4, 11-6, 12-10 in the semifinals. Sutirtha-Ayhika will take on Rui Zhang and Kuai Man of China on Saturday.

Earlier, India's top woman paddler Manika Batra went down tamely 9-11, 4-11, 3-11 to Kuai Man of China, ranked 238 places below the Indian at 287, in the women's singles quarterfinals.
