The Indian women’s doubles pair of Manika Batra and Archana Kamath, seeded two, reached the semifinals of the WTT Star Contender here on Tuesday, with a 13-11, 8-11, 11-5, 13-11 win over Lee Ho Ching and Soo Wai Yam Minnie of Hong Kong. Manika and Archana will next take on Taipei’s Li Yu-Jhun and Cheng I-Ching in the last four clash.
However, G. Sathiyan and Manika bowed out of singles. While Sathiyan lost to Sweden’s Kristian Karlsson 11-5, 8-11, 7-11, 4-11 in the men’s pre-quarterfinals, Manika went down without much of a fight to Germany’s Ying Han, seeded six, 5-11, 2-11, 4-11 in the women’s round-of-16.

Earlier on Monday, the fourth-seeded mixed doubles duo of Sathiyan and Manika lost to Spain’s Alvaro Robles and Maria Xiao 7-11, 11-9, 7-11, 5-11 in the first round.
