AITA head in race for post of ITF president

Anil Khanna will contest against David Haggerty of the US, Juan Margets Lobato of Spain and Rene Stammback of Switzerland, the other three candidates in the race. Francesco Ricci Bitti, the current head of the ITF, stepped down after serving for 16 years.

The president of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), Anil Khanna will be contesting the post of the president of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), in the ongoing Annual General Meeting of the ITF in Santiago, Chile, on Friday. David Haggerty of the US, Juan Margets Lobato of Spain and Rene Stammback of Switzerland are the other three candidates in the race, trying to take over charge from Francesco Ricci Bitti who opted to step down after 16 years as the ITF president.

Anil Khanna will also be among seven of the 26 candidates trying to continue in the ITF Board of Directors for another four-year term from 2015 to 2019.
