AITA: Participation in Nationals compulsory for grants

The national federation released a statement to convey the official message to the players.

The men’s and women’s singles champions of the National championship would get government grant.

Participation in the National championship would be mandatory for a player to be eligible for any assistance or grant from the Government, the All India Tennis Association (AITA) has announced.

In a statement addressed to the players, AITA said, “Participation in Nationals will also be compulsory to be selected for the teams representing India, unless exempted by the AITA.”

It was also mentioned that the men’s and women’s singles champions of the National championship would get government grant. “There will be scouting of players for the proposed high performance tennis centre at the DLTA Complex,” the note concluded.
