Ankita Raina, Karman Kaur Thandi in doubles final in Taipei

Ankita Raina and Karman Kaur Thandi beat third seeds Misaki Doi and Danka Kovnic 6-7(2), 6-4, 10-8 in the doubles semifinals.

Ankita Raina and Karman Kaur Thandi knocked out the third seeds Misaki Doi and Danka Kovnic 6-7(2), 6-4, 10-8 in the doubles semifinals of the $125,000 WTA tennis tournament on Saturday.

In the final, Ankita and Karman will face fourth seeds Olga Doroshina and Natela Dzalamidze of Russia.

In the $150,000 Challenger in the US, Leander Paes in partnership with Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela of Mexico was beaten in the doubles semifinals by Marcelo Arevalo and Jamie Cerretani.

In the ITF women’s event in Tunisia, Bhuvana Kalva could not deal with two matches in the day, and was beaten 7-6(4), 6-4 by second seed Ilona Georgiana Ghiroaie of Romania in the semifinals. Bhuvana had won the quarterfinals earlier with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Tamara Curovic of Serbia.
