Australian Open wildcard playoff: Kadhe, Balaji go down in straight sets

The pair of Sriram Balaji and Arjun Kadhe lost 6-4, 6-2 in the men’s doubles semifinals of the Australian Open wild card play-off.

The top seeds Mao-Xin Gong and Ze Zhang of China stopped the Indian pair of Sriram Balaji and Arjun Kadhe 6-4, 6-2 in the men’s doubles semifinals of the Australian Open wild card play-off tennis event in Zhuhai, China, on Friday.

In the women’s quarterfinals, Chihiro Muramatsu of Japan beat Pranjala Yadlapalli 6-2, 7-5.

The Indian aspirations were quelled in the boys event as well, as top seed Mann Shah was beaten 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 by seventh seed Baoluo Zheng of China in the semifinals.
