As Tomas Berdych continues to fly under the Australian Open radar, the Czech sixth seed believes he is getting better and better after another straight-sets win on Wednesday.

It's been quite good today. It was better than the first match," the 30-year-old said. I felt quite good. I mean, the conditions were quite tough, especially for the first set, but then it was better. I think it was a good day at the office. A straight-sets win is always helpful, always good.

Two-time Australian Open semi-finalist Berdych - also a Wimbledon runner-up in 2010 - is yet to drop a set at the grand slam and feels he is gaining momentum in Melbourne.

"It's been quite good today. It was better than the first match," the 30-year-old said.

"It's just important that every match that I step on court, it's going to be slightly better, the game's going to be a slightly higher level of the game. Just keep improving how the tournament goes on."
