Yuki Bhambri bowed to the top seed and eventual champion Evgeny Donskoy of Russia 6-3, 7-5 in the semifinal of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Zhuhai, China. The semifinal entry was worth 29 ATP points and $2,510 for Yuki, who will continue to play another Challenger in China.

Meanwhile, Sania Mirza made the doubles quarterfinal of the WTA event in Indian Wells, in partnership with Barbora Strycova of the Czech Republic, beating Sara Errani and Alicja Rosolska 6-2, 6-3. However, in the men’s ATP event, Leander Paes in partnership with Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina was beaten 6-3, 6-4 by Giles muller of Luxembourg and Sam Querrey of the US in the doubles first round.
